Iliya Salimi is an independent type and graphic designer based in Tehran, Iran. With a lifelong passion for form, structure, and visual rhythm, he began exploring graphic design during his teenage years and soon discovered a deep interest in type design — where form meets meaning.
He holds a diploma from the Tehran School of Fine Arts and is currently pursuing a degree in Sculpture at the University of Art. Iliya works as a freelance designer, collaborating closely with type foundries and design studios on projects that merge conceptual thinking with formal innovation. His work is driven by curiosity, experimentation, and a dedication to typography as both craft and cultural expression.
